Summary : Hugo & Hoby partnered with Bialek to design and fabricate over 650 linear feet of custom banquette seating across eight floors for the Department of General Services. Balancing the project’s scale with budget constraints, we were instrumental in the design process, crafting innovative solutions that ensured cost efficiency while maintaining the original design vision.
The project features mirrored 40-foot-long banquettes spanning six floors, built with custom stained Ash wood bases and upholstered in various high-performance Concertex commercial fabrics. Complementing these expansive curved layouts are large-scale straight wall booths and a bar-height banquette wrapping around a bespoke bar, delivering a unified spatial rhythm across the building..
Design details elevate the functional seating, featuring double-box-stitched foam cushions, rollover top caps, integrated footrails on elevated units, and stained ash veneer ledges recessed with coves to house continuous LED accent lighting. Discrete power cutouts and internal wiring pathways are integrated directly into the bases, ensuring long-run connectivity remains hidden.
